Job Title: Quality Assurance Automation Engineer (BDD – Robot Framework)
Location: Brampton, ON (Hybrid – 3 Days/Week Onsite)
Job Type: 6-Month Contract (High Possibility of Extension)

Position Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and proactive Quality Assurance Automation Engineer with strong expertise in BDD frameworks and Robot Framework (Python) for a hybrid contract opportunity with one of our valued external clients. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years' experience in QA automation and hands-on experience designing and implementing test automation solutions following Behavior-Driven Development (BDD) principles.

This role will be instrumental in designing automation frameworks, enhancing test coverage, and identifying automation opportunities across Salesforce, Web Applications, SAP, and Appian systems. The candidate must be comfortable working independently as well as collaboratively in a hybrid work environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and develop robust, scalable test automation frameworks following BDD principles using Robot Framework and Python.
• Create and maintain automated test scripts aligned to business behaviors and acceptance criteria.
• Conduct API testing leveraging tools like Postman and integrate automation pipelines with Jenkins for CI/CD.
• Lead automation strategy discussions, including test case prioritization and framework scalability.
• Perform functional, regression, and integration testing across multiple platforms (Web, Salesforce, SAP, Appian).
• Identify, document, and triage defects effectively and collaborate closely with development teams to resolve issues.
• Work with business analysts, developers, and stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into BDD-style test scenarios.
• Participate actively in Agile/Scrum ceremonies, providing testing updates, estimations, and reporting.
• Drive continuous improvement in QA processes, tools adoption, and testing efficiency.

Specific Accountabilities:

• Define and implement a structured approach to BDD-based automation to improve communication and collaboration between business and technical teams.
• Expand automation coverage across different technology stacks and platforms ensuring consistency and reusability.
• Integrate BDD tests into the continuous integration pipelines, ensuring rapid feedback on builds and deployments.
• Support the maintenance and enhancement of test case repositories and test data management strategies.

Mandatory Qualifications:

• 5+ years of experience in Software Quality Assurance with a strong automation focus.
• Hands-on expertise with Robot Framework (Keyword-Driven and BDD approach) and Python scripting.
• Strong experience implementing BDD frameworks and working with Gherkin syntax or equivalent behavioral test writing.
• Solid experience in API testing using Postman and test automation integration with Jenkins.
• Deep understanding of QA methodologies, testing types, and automation best practices.
• Familiarity testing Salesforce Applications, Web Applications, SAP, and Appian platforms.
• Strong coding skills in Python and working knowledge of Java.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a hybrid work model (3 days onsite mandatory).
• Must be based in or willing to commute to Brampton, ON.

Nice-to-Have:

• Experience with integrating BDD frameworks with CI/CD pipelines.
• Exposure to test management tools and reporting dashboards.
• Knowledge of performance testing tools and methodologies.
• Experience working within Agile and SAFe environments.
