The Volunteer & Accreditation Program Lead plays a key role in the successful planning and execution of the volunteer program and accreditation process for the 2025 Grey Cup Festival. This individual will be responsible for recruiting, scheduling, supporting, and recognizing volunteers, as well as assisting with the credentialing and access control systems for all accredited personnel.

Key Responsibilities:

Volunteer Program Planning & Support

  • Collaborate with Grey Cup Festival Staff to determine volunteer requirements for each location, including job roles, number of volunteers, and shift schedules.
  • Assist in the development of standardized volunteer procedures and protocols.
  • Support the creation and delivery of venue- and role-specific training programs.
  • Help organize and execute volunteer uniform distribution events.
  • Provide support to other functional areas with volunteer assignment and scheduling needs.

Onsite Leadership & Management

  • Oversee and manage Volunteers during the event to ensure effective on-the-ground coordination.
  • Serve as a key point of contact for volunteer-related issues or concerns at festival sites and leading up to the Grey Cup Festival
  • Maintain a positive, solutions-oriented approach to volunteer management throughout the event.

Accreditation:

  • Assist the Director of Festival Operations with the management of the accreditation program
  • Assist with the development of accreditation procedures
  • Manage accreditation applications, working with the Director and the software provider
  • Communicating with stakeholders on accreditation procedures
  • Working with all stakeholders to ensure a smooth accreditation operation
  • Support all event staff/access control staff during the accreditation process

Post-Event Support

  • Participate in the preparation of post-event reporting and debriefs, providing insights and recommendations for future volunteer program improvements.

Time Commitment:

  • Contract position from July through November 2025.
  • Must be available to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, particularly during the lead-up to and throughout the Festival.
  • Required to attend and assist with volunteer orientation and training sessions.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 1 year experience in volunteer management or a related field.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage, supervise, and train staff or volunteers.
  • Strong communication skills – both written and verbal.
  • Excellent planning, organizational, and time management abilities.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Familiarity with Human Resources best practices is considered an asset.
