About the Opportunity
Yorktown Search Partners is conducting a confidential search on behalf of our client, a prestigious boutique professional services firm with a strong focus on legal and advisory services. Our client is seeking a dynamic and results-driven Lawyer to join their Transaction Advisory Services team. This role combines business development with the execution of transaction-related legal services, including mergers and acquisitions (M&A), due diligence, and contract negotiation. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of generating new business and delivering high-quality legal advisory services.
Key Responsibilities
Business Development:
- Identify and cultivate relationships with potential clients to generate new business opportunities.
- Develop and implement strategic plans to expand the firm's legal advisory services.
- Represent the firm at industry events, conferences, and networking functions.
Legal Advisory Services:
- Lead and manage buy-side and sell-side M&A engagements, including legal due diligence and contract negotiation.
- Provide clients with strategic legal advice on transaction structures, regulatory compliance, and risk management.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver comprehensive solutions to clients.
Client Relationship Management:
- Serve as the primary legal point of contact for clients, ensuring exceptional service delivery.
- Maintain long-term relationships with clients, providing ongoing legal support and identifying opportunities for additional services.
Qualifications
- Licensed to practice law in Ontario.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in legal practice, with a focus on transaction advisory services.
- Demonstrated ability to generate new business and build client relationships.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in legal research and contract drafting.
- A verifiable and portable book of business is required.
