We are a well-established General Contractor specializing in institutional construction projects across the Greater Toronto Area. Our portfolio includes schools, healthcare facilities, government buildings, and other public sector developments ranging from $5M to $50M in value. With a strong reputation for quality, collaboration, and client satisfaction, we are looking to grow our team with an experienced and motivated Senior Estimator.

Role Overview:

The Senior Estimator will be responsible for preparing accurate and competitive estimates for institutional construction projects. This role plays a critical part in the pre-construction phase, ensuring that proposals are well-prepared and aligned with client expectations and company goals. You will collaborate closely with project managers, subcontractors, and consultants to deliver high-quality bids and proposals.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare detailed estimates and budgets for institutional construction projects (schools, healthcare, government, etc.)

  • Analyze project drawings, specifications, and other documentation to prepare comprehensive cost estimates

  • Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and supplier pricing

  • Conduct risk assessments and identify cost-saving opportunities

  • Prepare and present tender submissions, proposals, and pre-construction documentation

  • Collaborate with project teams, owners, and consultants during pre-construction and value engineering phases

  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of market conditions, material costs, and construction practices in the GTA

  • Lead and mentor junior estimators and support staff as required

Qualifications:
  • 7+ years of estimating experience with a General Contractor, ideally focused on institutional or ICI projects

  • Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and building codes in Ontario

  • Experience working on projects valued between $5M–$50M

  • Proficient in estimating software (e.g., Timberline, WinEst, or equivalent) and MS Excel

  • Exceptional attention to detail, time management, and organizational skills

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

  • Degree or diploma in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field
