We are currently seeking Concrete Finishers to work on concrete installation projects located in Edmonton. We offer competitive wages, work / life balance, great opportunity for advancement, training and potential for work over the winter.

Duties include (but are not limited to):


  • Place and finish concrete floors, driveways, sidewalks, curbs, bridge decks and other concrete structures
  • Apply architectural, exposed, patterned, and stamped surfaces

  • Level and smooth top surface concrete according to grade and depth specification
  • Round edges and make joints / grooves to help control cracking

  • Install anchor bolts, steel plates, door sills and other fixtures

  • Repair, resurface and replace worn or damaged sections of concrete structures

  • Fill hollows and remove spots on freshly poured cement

  • Operate power vibrators to compact concrete

  • Impart desired finish (broomed / smooth) to concrete surfaces using hand and power tools

  • Apply hardening and sealing components to cure surfaces

  • Waterproof, damps proof and restore surfaces

  • Place and finish concrete surfaces to project specifications

  • Ensure freshly poured concrete surfaces are protected from constantly changing weather conditions (covered, heat & hoarded accordingly)

  • Provide quality assurance/control for concrete pours

  • Work with minimal supervision and direction

  • Follow all safety and quality control procedures

  • Participate in site safety meetings

Required Skills:


  • A minimum of 3 years of experience is required

  • Experience with various flat work finishing is required

  • Grouting experience is an asset
  • Have knowledge how to properly use dry pack grouting and epoxy materials
  • Proven expertise in how to perfectly cure concrete

  • Understand how to use power/small tools such as plate tampers, carb saws, etc.

  • Ability to work long hours (10+ hour days) outdoors in various weather conditions

  • Physical able to perform heavy manual tasks, including lifting, shoveling, moving heavy materials up to 50lbs

  • Working understanding of site hazard assessments and able to complete daily safety documentation in an accurate and timely manner

  • Be fit for duty and prepared for work each day

  • Positive attitude / team player

  • Strong communication / listening skills and ability to follow direction
