Our client, a boutique litigation firm is in search of a Class Actions Law Clerk to join their growing practice. This is a dual-role where the successful candidate will become the go-to individual, supporting two Senior Partners in class actions matters and secondarily in an office management capacity.
About the Role
Law Clerk Duties:
- Assist with all stages of class action litigation, including case development, document review, and court filings.
- Draft legal documents such as pleadings, affidavits, and motion records.
- Manage document production, e-discovery, and client communications.
- Conduct legal research and prepare case summaries.
- Coordinate with plaintiffs, class members, and opposing counsel.
- Oversee day-to-day office operations, ensuring efficiency and organization.
- Manage firm calendars, deadlines, and client correspondence.
- Liaise with vendors, IT support, and external service providers.
- Assist with billing, invoicing, and basic financial administration.
- Support lawyers with administrative tasks as needed.
The Offer
What You Bring
- Law Clerk Diploma, Paralegal Certification and/or equivalent legal training.
- Minimum 5 + years of experience in class actions, litigation, or a related legal field.
- Strong knowledge of Ontario Rules of Civil Procedure and along with cross-provincial court filing processes.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and legal practice management software.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and multitasking skills.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
