Immediate need for a Plant Operations Manager to oversee maintenance operations for their meat processing plant. This role ensures that all machinery, equipment, and facilities are properly maintained to support continuous and efficient plant operations. The Manager will lead a team of technicians, develop maintenance schedules, manage budgets, and ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement preventive and corrective maintenance programs for all plant machinery and equipment
- Coordinate maintenance activities to minimize downtime and ensure maximum equipment efficiency
- Maintain a detailed maintenance schedule and manage work orders
- Supervise and lead a team of maintenance technicians, providing training, coaching, and performance evaluations
- Assign tasks and monitor the progress of maintenance activities
- Foster a culture of safety, teamwork, and continuous improvement
- Diagnose electrical, mechanical, and technical issues and develop solutions to prevent recurrence
- Ensure timely and effective repair of equipment to minimize production downtime
- Prepare and manage the maintenance department budget, controlling costs and optimizing spending. Maintain an inventory of necessary spare parts, tools, and equipment, ensuring timely procurement and cost-effective use of resources
- Ensure that all maintenance activities comply with safety regulations, quality standards, and environmental policies
- Conduct regular safety inspections, risk assessments, and audits to identify potential hazards and implement corrective actions
- Maintain records of maintenance activities, inspections, and regulatory compliance
- Identify opportunities for process improvements, equipment upgrades, and cost reduction initiatives
- Collaborate with other departments, such as Production and Quality Assurance, to ensure seamless plant operations
Qualification Requirement:
- 442A Red Seal Certification required
- Proven leadership experience with a minimum of 5 years' experience working in a high-speed automated environment, preferably within food manufacturing
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite with advanced Excel skills
- Strong communication skills and the ability to lead cross-functional teams
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills
- Knowledge of HACCP and GMP preferred
