A well-regarded law firm in downtown Toronto is seeking a Senior Accounting Clerk to join their team.
About the Role
Reporting to the Accounting Manager, the Senior Accounting Clerk will manage daily and monthly legal accounting tasks with a focus on accuracy and compliance in a fast-paced environment. Key responsibilities include preparing financial reports, reconciling trust and general accounts, processing client billing and e-billings, and supporting year-end activities. The role also involves liaising with banks, maintaining financial records, setting up employees in accounting systems, creating GL accounts, and training staff on accounting procedures.
The Offer
The role offers a salary of up to $70K, with benefits, 3 weeks vacation, $500 health spending account, and professional training and education support.
What You Bring
The ideal candidate brings a minimum of 2 years of experience working as an Accounting Clerk in a law firm, with a strong background in all aspects of daily and monthly legal accounting, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, trust accounting, and preparation of financial and management reports. A solid understanding of GAAP and a strong knowledge of LSO requirements are essential. Proficiency in Excel (Pivot tables & VLOOKUP) and experience with law firm accounting software are also required.
