About the Role:
The successful candidate will support commercial real estate transactions from start to finish, including acquisitions, dispositions, financings, leasing, municipal agreements, due diligence, and title matters. Additionally, responsibilities will extend to land development, including subdivision formations, severances, variances, and related financial reporting.
- Assist in handling commercial real estate transactions, ensuring all steps from due diligence to closing are efficiently managed.
- Conduct title searches, review agreements, and prepare documentation related to purchases, sales, financings, and leasing.
- Coordinate municipal applications, agreements, and land development processes.
- Manage escrow arrangements and financial disbursements.
- Draft, revise, and analyze legal documents, including purchase agreements, leases, financing documents, municipal applications, and title requisitions.
- Prepare closing documents and oversee the finalization of transactions.
- Compile and draft reports, statements of adjustments, and other financial documents.
- Liaise with clients, legal professionals, financial institutions, and municipal officials.
- Identify potential issues and provide proactive solutions.
- Collaborate with legal teams and supervise support staff when needed.
- Law Clerk Diploma or equivalent education (Undergraduate degree preferred).
- Minimum of 5 years' experience in commercial real estate law.
- Strong ability to handle high-volume, complex transactions with minimal supervision.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Expertise in Teraview and experience with legal accounting software.
- Solid drafting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Commitment to ongoing professional development.
