Job Opportunity: Senior Service Designer
Location: 7000 - 113 ST, Edmonton, Alberta (primarily remote)
Start Date: June 22, 2025
End Date: June 21, 2026
Duration: 12 months (with possible extension up to 24 months)

About the Role

The Client seeks an experienced Senior Service Designer to support two to three concurrent projects. The role involves end-to-end service design, user-centered research, prototyping, and collaboration in Agile cross-functional teams. Work is primarily remote with occasional on-site presence in Alberta (e.g., quarterly meetings, field research).

Responsibilities
  • Conduct user research and usability testing

  • Lead and participate in co-design workshops

  • Translate insights into service blueprints, personas, journey maps, and prototypes

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including developers, product managers, and policy advisors

  • Support service transformation initiatives including change management and implementation strategies

Must-Have Qualifications
  • Duration – 2 years: Experience with service design research and outputs.
  • Duration – 2 years: Experience working within a cross-functional product team in an Agile environment.
Nice-to-Have Qualifications
  • Duration – 2 years: Experience planning, conducting, and analyzing findings from, creating representations of and reporting on qualitative field research.
  • Duration – 3 years: Experience planning, conducting, and analyzing findings from, creating representations of, and reporting on co-design workshops with service users.
  • Duration – 1 year: Experience planning, observing, analyzing, and reporting on usability testing of production or prototype systems.
  • Duration – 2 years: Experience working as a Service Designer in a cross-functional team to deliver a digital service, including concept testing and service prototyping.
  • Duration – 2 years: Experience working with change management, policy changes, staffing changes, or other organizational change as part of service transformation and implementation.
  • Duration – 2 years: Working as a Service Designer on a project comparable in size and complexity to the service innovation, program review, and/or digital transformation projects such as the GoA.
