Job Description

Tridon Communications is currently looking for an Accounts Receivable Coordinator to add to our growing team. This position will be based in our Head Office location in Edmonton.

Job Summary

The Accounts Receivable Coordinator will play a key role in both our receivables process and broader accounting operations. This role is perfect for someone who's proactive, process-driven, and eager to make things better—not just keep things running. This includes processing AR invoices, performing credit checks, setting up new customer accounts, following up on overdue invoices, and working closely with internal teams and clients to resolve discrepancies. You'll play a key role in supporting major projects and key contract clients, while upholding Tridon's commitment to customer service, health and safety, and quality standards.

Responsibilities & Duties

Accounts Receivable / Collections (Primary Focus):

  • Maintain the AR sub-ledger and customer files, including invoicing and credit memos
  • Notify and follow up with clients on overdue accounts and underpayments
  • Process and apply AR payments accurately and promptly
  • Perform credit checks and set up new customer accounts
  • Review invoices for accuracy and completeness (e.g., purchase order numbers), and prepare for mailing
  • Liaise with customers regularly to resolve billing issues and provide account status updates
  • Manage AR for major projects and key contract clients
  • Address invoice discrepancies in a timely manner
  • Ensure excellent customer service and responsiveness at all times
  • Collaborate with internal departments to ensure accurate and timely billing

General Accounting Support:

  • Assist with month-end close and bank reconciliations.
  • Prepare journal entries, accruals, and adjustments.
  • Help with AP, payroll, and other accounting functions as needed.
  • Maintain organized records and support audits when required.

Process Improvement & Systems:

  • Learn and master accounting and ERP systems.
  • Identify and suggest ways to improve efficiency and accuracy.
  • Support system transitions and automation projects.
  • Build and refine accounting processes for smoother operations.
  • Participate in cross-functional teamwork to enhance the billing and collections process
  • Perform other duties as required

Experience & Qualifications

Education:

  • Post-secondary education in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

Experience & Skills:

  • Must have 5 -10 years of Accounts Receivable and credit collections experience
  • Experience in corporate finance; oil & gas industry background considered an asset
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
  • Comfort with accounting software (QuickBooks, Sage, NetSuite, or similar)
  • Strong attention to detail and organization with a high level of accuracy
  • Must have excellent communication skills both written and oral—especially for collections
  • A growth mindset and a love for learning new tools and processes
  • A passion for building better workflows.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
  • Ability to handle sensitive issues professionally and persistently

Pay: $60K - $65K per year
