Current Opportunities:
Simpcw Resources LLP is growing rapidly and looking for a dependable and enthusiastic Gooseneck/Hot Shot Driver (Class 3) to join our team. Reporting to the Heavy Equipment Operations Manager, the Gooseneck/Hot Shot Driver (Class 3) is responsible for safely transporting equipment, materials, and goods using a gooseneck trailer or hot shot truck. This position requires adherence to all safety regulations, proper load securing, and efficient route planning to ensure timely deliveries. This is a project-term opportunity starting April 2025, with an estimated completion date of October 31, 2025. The successful applicant must be willing to work shift work (6 on 1 off).

Responsibilities:

  • Safely haul gooseneck trailer, flatbed trailers, and equipment as required.
  • Ability to safely operate, load and unload equipment on to trailers as required.
  • Ability to safely haul trailers on forest service roads and off-highway.
  • Ability to follow site rules and regulations.
  • Ensure loads are safe and secure by utilizing chains, straps, as required.
  • Perform general maintenance and upkeep of the vehicle as required, including daily preventative maintenance inspections and safety checks.
  • Maintaining e-log books, and time sheets in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Ability to work with other team members in a professional manner at all times.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years operating a truck and trailer, loading/unloading, and transporting equipment.
  • Must have valid Class 3 driver's license with Air brake endorsement - candidate to provide a clean 5-year commercial drivers abstract, including no distracted driving infractions.
  • Willingness to work extended hours including weekends.
  • Knowledge of Canadian Federal Hours of Service.
  • Mechanically inclined (considered an asset).
  • Class 1 Lowbed, Step deck and dump truck experience considered an asset
  • Experience working with First Nations people is valued.
  • Knowledge of the Simpcw First Nations community is valued.
