Job title: Quality Technician
6 month renewable contract

Shifts: Monday to Thursday (8am to 6pm or 7am to 5pm)
This role reports directly to the Sr. Laboratory Technician.
Responsibilities:
*Prepare and Analyze test samples from in-process and finished products.
*Adjust and retest samples.
*Perform color matching for new and existing products.
*Troubleshooting OOS samples.
*Working with the Lead Chemist in analysis of samples.
*Prepare reports as required.
*Other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience:
*B.Sc. or diploma in Chemistry, from a recognized post-secondary institution, OR equivalent combination of education and experience in industrial coatings and color matching.
*Experience in a QC Laboratory or technical environment is preferred.
*Experience in plant manufacturing environment is preferred.
*Sound aptitude for scientific and technical concepts.
Skills and Knowledge:
*Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
*Excellent time management skills, exceptionally organized.
*Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
*Able to work independently and as a team.
*Adaptable to changes in priorities.
*Ability to identify compliance and/or safety risks and escalate as required.
*Word/MS Project and database management skills.
*Extended hours may be required depending on projects.
Desirable Skills/experience:
*Formal laboratory analysis training.
*WHMIS and MSDS.
*GMP/ISO.
*Experience in a paint/chemical/industrial coatings environment.
*Experience in a QC environment would be a plus
