As a Senior UX Designer, you will be responsible for creating user-friendly, visually appealing interfaces and optimizing the overall functionality of digital products. You will design for a variety of projects, conduct user research, and ensure compliance with accessibility standards. This role requires a deep understanding of UX principles, web technologies, and design tools.Responsibilities
- Create effective and user-centric interfaces for digital displays, publications, and other media.
- Design and deliver wireframes, mockups, prototypes, and user flows for web and mobile applications.
- Take a user-centered design approach, iterating based on user research and testing feedback.
- Conduct user research, interviews, and surveys to develop sitemaps, customer journey maps, and intuitive interfaces.
- Facilitate UX discovery sessions with stakeholders to define personas, goals, and user journeys.
- Lead UX testing sessions, document findings, and incorporate feedback to improve designs.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams using tools like Azure DevOps and GitLab.
- Adhere to design standards and accessibility requirements (WCAG 2.0).
Technical Skills (55%)
- Proficiency in UX design principles, including Google Material Design and iOS Human Interface Guidelines.
- Experience designing responsive, cloud-based web applications optimized for different devices, browsers, and screen sizes.
- Expertise in HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript frameworks (e.g., Angular, React), and client-side libraries (e.g., Bootstrap, jQuery).
- Experience with CSS preprocessors (SASS, SCSS, LESS), Flex-Layout, and CSS Grid design concepts.
- Hands-on experience with design and prototyping tools like Axure, Sketch, Adobe Creative Suite, Wireframe.cc, and Adobe XD.
- Knowledge of Service-Oriented Architecture and software development methodologies (Agile, Waterfall).
- Ability to create UI mockups, illustrations, and prototypes that enhance user experience.
- Strong skills in UX research, including scenario development, user flows, and user testing.
- Experience identifying UX problems, troubleshooting design issues, and making strategic design decisions.
- Proven work experience in leading UX discovery and design sessions with stakeholders.
- Experience adapting designs quickly based on feedback.
- Experience working on projects in the public sector, particularly with Ontario Curriculum systems, is a plus.
- Bachelor's degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), or related field.
