Dream is looking for a Director, Total Rewards

Dream is looking for a strategic and experienced Director of Total Rewards to join our People + Culture team. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the design, execution, and administration of our compensation, benefits, pension, incentive programs, and payroll policies and processes. With 8+ years of experience in a fast-paced human resources environment, you've built deep expertise in total rewards—compensation, benefits, pension, and workforce analytics. What will you do?

As the Director of Total Rewards, you will play a critical role in shaping and managing Dream's total rewards programs, ensuring they are competitive, equitable, and aligned with business objectives. Your responsibilities will include:

Compensation & Benefits

  • Oversee the design, implementation, and administration of compensation programs, including base pay, incentive plans, and salary structures.
  • Conduct market benchmarking and analysis to ensure our total rewards strategy remains competitive and aligned with industry best practices.
  • Manage benefits programs, including vendor relationships, renewals, and employee communications.
  • Support the annual compensation review process, working closely with leadership to ensure fairness and transparency.

Payroll & Compliance

  • Lead a team of two payroll professionals, overseeing five payrolls across multiple regions.
  • Ensure payroll processing is accurate, timely, and compliant with legislative requirements.
  • Stay informed of regulatory changes and industry trends, ensuring compliance with employment laws and tax regulations.

HR & Leadership Support

  • Partner with HR and business leaders to provide data-driven insights on compensation, benefits, and total rewards strategies.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to senior leadership on all total rewards matters.
  • Drive continuous improvements and automation in payroll and benefits administration.

What type of experience should you have?

  • 8+ years of experience in total rewards, compensation, benefits, or payroll.
  • Experience leading compensation & benefits programs for a mid-to-large-sized organization.
  • Post-secondary degree in Business, Finance, HR, or a related field; Designation within an total rewards/compensation is an asset.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret compensation and benefits data.
  • A results-oriented mindset with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects effectively.
  • A collaborative approach and excellent communication skills to engage with stakeholders at all levels.
