OUR OPPORTUNITY:

We are currently seeking a Material Handler to join our team!

We have 1 position available for 32-40 hours/week, Monday to Friday. This position will have a start time of 6AM.

You will be reporting to the Receiving Supervisor your role will be to verify and maintain records of incoming orders preparing items for storage. Duties include assembling of product or material received, unpacking, verifying and recording incoming merchandise or material and storage of product or material.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • Work requires moderate physical effort and use of motor skills requiring manual dexterity. While performing duties of this job employees must be capable of comfortably lifting 20-40 pounds throughout the day.
  • Employees may lift, lower, carry product up to a maximum of 50 pounds by hand and may push or pull material handling equipment including manual pallet jacks.
  • Employees work in a warehouse environment and must demonstrate that they can competently follow safe work procedures and policies.
  • Employees must be able to walk/stand for 8 hours per day.

    Starting rate $18.00 per hour, increases at 4, 8 and 12 months.

WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TEAM:

  • Previous experience operating a forklift with a valid forklift license an asset, however training/certification can be provided.
  • Physically fit (work requires medium lifting [up to 25lbs], with reaching, handling and feeling and stooping and bending.
  • Accurate arithmetic abilities including manual addition, multiplication, subtraction
  • Neat and legible writing and printing
  • Available to work part-time 32 to 40 hours/week. Shifts scheduled between Monday and Friday 6:00am to 2:30pm (8-hour shifts). May be required to work over-time or occasional Saturday shifts.
  • Team player who is committed to working with their co-workers.
  • You must be an excellent communicator, someone who understands how to frame a message in a clear, concise, and compelling way
  • Confident, motivated, flexible individual able to work with deadlines and switch easily from one task to another.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally
  • Ability to meet production deadlines without jeopardizing safety and job accuracy
  • Pleasant, professional, and courteous communication skills
  • CSA approved steel toed work shoes are mandatory within the warehouse facility and the responsibility of all employees at time of hire.
