POSITION SUMMARY:
- Provide nursing and personal care services to residents in line with established standards, policies, and care plans. Supervise and support health care staff as needed
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Deliver basic care to residents while maintaining their privacy and dignity
- Observe and report changes in residents' conditions
- Support resident activation programs considering their holistic needs (cultural, spiritual, psychosocial)
- Assist with personal care, safety, and maintaining a clean environment
- Maintain accurate documentation and records of resident care
- Communicate effectively with residents, families, and colleagues
- Assist in training new staff and support a safe working environment by following health and safety policies
- Attend in-service training to stay updated on healthcare practices
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Graduate of an approved PSW course or equivalent
- Experience with seniors or chronic care residents preferred
- Good physical and mental health, with strong communication skills in English
- A genuine interest in resident well-being and an acceptable standard of behavior and appearance
WORKING CONDITIONS:
- Prolonged standing, walking, bending, and lifting (up to 50 lbs. alone, 160 lbs. with assistance)
- Exposure to stress and resident care challenges
- Requires visual and auditory acuity to monitor resident needs
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
- Follow all health and safety protocols, including reporting hazards, using protective equipment, and participating in fire safety drills
