Experimental Mechanic Supervisor
* Supervise unionized experimental mechanics supporting testing operations. Testing operations include Battery Lab, Brake Development Lab, Road Test Simulation, Engineering Garage.
* Plan, coordinate and prioritize experimental mechanic activities to meet testing operation objectives in a safe and efficient manner.* Comply with the collective bargaining agreement, * Supervise in accordance with the Ontario Occupational Health and Safety Act* Be integral to the path to Zero InjuriesResponsibilities include but not limited to: * Supervise group of experimental mechanics performing test setup, test rig maintenance and other ARDC operational functions.* Develop and modify standard operating procedures and work instructions for activities, tooling and equipment* Supervise in accordance to the Ontario Occupational Health and Safety Act, company policies, procedures and guidelines.* Oversee experimental mechanics preventative maintenance program for automotive testing equipment * Prioritize tasks and manpower based on urgency and workforce availability* Maintain accurate hourly timekeeping records, vacation and time off requests* Perform workplace inspections to maintain a clean and safe work environment.* Procure parts, materials and rentals as required to complete tasks* Track data for KPI and KAI performance targets* Maintain good supplier/customer relations with internal customers and outside suppliers* Monitor and maintain inventory levels of materials and equipment - Requirements:* Certificate of Qualification as an engineering technologist or any trade designation* 3-5 years of supervisory experience in an industrial setting* Experience with automated equipment with preference to automotive assembly or automotive component testing would be a benefit* 3-5 years of experience in a unionized labour environment* Technical knowledge of automobiles and electric vehicles would be a benefit* Willingness to accept a wide variety of assignments* Knowledge of Ontario Building Code, Electrical Safety Code, OH&SA Regulations * Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite software, ability to learn and operate other computer based and web based programs * Strong project management, organizational, teamwork, written and verbal communication skills* Must have a valid driver's license* Willing to work weekends and shift work as required
