Business Development & Account Manager – Commercial A&D (Flooring Industry)
Location: Toronto, ON
Salary: $80,000 + commissions

About the Role: Our client, a leading commercial flooring company, is seeking an experienced Business Development & Account Manager to drive specification sales and strengthen relationships within Toronto's Architect & Design (A&D) community. This Canadian owned and operated company is focused on commercial flooring solutions - this role will focus on carpet solutions, working closely with designers, architects, and end users to secure product specifications, manage key accounts, and grow market share.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and maintain strong partnerships with architects, designers, and specifiers to position our client's products as the preferred choice.
  • Drive product adoption by influencing project specifications and working closely with design and construction teams.
  • Identify and pursue new opportunities within the corporate, hospitality, education, and institutional sectors to expand market reach.
  • Manage a portfolio of key accounts, ensuring long-term client satisfaction and repeat business.
  • Collaborate with internal teams, including estimators, project managers, and installation teams, to deliver seamless project execution.
  • Attend trade shows, industry events, and A&D presentations to promote brand awareness and generate leads.
Qualifications & Experience:
  • Proven experience in a business development or account management role within the commercial flooring, interior finishes, or building materials industry.
  • Established network within the Toronto A&D community, with a strong ability to influence design decisions.
  • Experience in specification sales, particularly with commercial carpet or other flooring solutions.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills to engage with architects, designers, and key decision-makers.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and specifications through long sales cycles.
  • Self-motivated, driven, and able to work independently while collaborating with cross-functional teams.
