DOCK ASSOCIATE (Permanent Full-Time)
Under the general direction of the Shipping Coordinator, this role is responsible for performing various duties associated with the proper picking, verifying, packing, and shipping of orders. Being part of the team, we all play a vital role in helping to maintain a clean, well-ordered, and safe working environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Check the trailer wheel chocks to ensure they are in use as required
Email communications between transportation companies regarding coordination of door & trailer destination
Prepare the trailer signing log for the drivers and mount on the outside clipboard
Prepare a Bill of Lading for each trailer and place in the dangerous goods envelopes
Coordinate trailer loading personnel with the Warehouse Supervisor
Start the reefers if necessary notify Logistics Supervisor of any alarm
Connect the roller extension pieces to the main conveyor and pull the extensions into the trailers
Load the freight in either the trailers or pre-sorted pallets, as per the truck loading/dock policy
Place the correct depot labels on each of the sorted skids, when necessary
Clear any conveyor jam and restart if it stops
Ensure COS skid is wrapped and loaded after the driver scans or signs the shipping label
Close the trailer door containing the COS pieces and witness the driver attaching the seal
Operation of the dock plates
Report all issues to the Shipping Coordinator
Training as required for Forklift and Electric Pallet Trucks
Pick, pack, and check orders as needed
Other duties and projects as assigned
Note: This position requires employees to walk/stand for the entirety of their shift, and lift up to 50lbs, as needed.

Conducts self with regard for the safety of employees; is aware of safety and evacuation procedures
Report any health & safety violations or hazards to a Supervisor, Coordinator, or Manager
Good Manufacturing Practices:
Follow and understand all relevant Standard Operating Procedures with respect to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP)
Skills and Knowledge Required:
High School diploma or GED equivalent
Previous work using an RF scanner (preferred)
Strong written & verbal communication
Ability to work with minimal supervision
Ability to work independently or as part of a team
