Licensed Mechanic – 310T or 310S
Reporting to the Shop Foreman, a 310T or 310S Licensed Technician (Mechanic) is responsible for the day-to-day preventative and post-incident repairs of a large fleet of commercial vehicles. This fast-paced but diligent role will diagnose and carry out all repairs for mechanical issues and problems discovered in various commercial School Buses and civilian class vehicles. The incumbent will maintain a strong sense of customer service while interacting with various stakeholders including School Bus Drivers, Dispatchers, Managers, Peer Mechanics, Apprentices, and Governmental Agencies.
Job Duties
- Perform Brake and Safety Inspections, carry out preventative maintenance
- Ensure all vehicle inspections are completed in a timely fashion each month
- Perform service calls and cold starts as required
- Ensure you have knowledge of our safety policies and adhere to them
- Perform additional vehicle repairs as needed
- Adhere to compliance-based regulations from a Company, Federal, Provincial and Municipal perspective
- Complete reports to record problems and work performed
- Inspect and test mechanical units to locate faults and malfunctions
- Diagnose faults and malfunctions and confirm findings with supervisor to determine whether to repair or replace
Qualifications
- Possess and maintain in good standing a valid 310T or 310S License
- Valid driver's license
- Thorough working knowledge of Municipal, Provincial and Federal safety provisions
- Practical experience in preventative maintenance practices in particular within the School Bus industry an asset
- Ability to work in a team-based, collaborative work
Pay: $35.00 – $38.00 per hour ($35/hr for 310S, up to $38/hr for 310T)
