What you'll do

  • Participate in customer-facing and internal projects, assisting or leading the technical engineering and operationalization of data protection solutions

  • Architect, engineer, and implement partial and/or complete data protection solutions using a variety of assessment tools and technologies

  • Troubleshoot performance, redundancy, configuration, and incidents to resolution

  • Assist and/or implement customer change requests

  • Escalation to the vendor support, when required, to resolve customer concerns

  • Cross-train and document new solutions, tools, and practices to team members, to the operations team, and other groups

  • Conduct new product/service evaluations for internal publication to management for possible adoption

  • Stay apprised of new developments in the data protection space; assist in determining how and when those would affect and/or improve our architecture

  • Follow the latest industry trends, practices, and ideas through training, certifications, conferences, and research

  • Perform documentation work (internal/external) for project compliance and transition to managed services

  • Work independently and alongside other consultants to deliver for customers

  • Understand the business challenges and impacts of the solutions being delivered

  • Develop, templatize and document technical solutions to support standardized and custom service offerings

  • Be a leader in the full project delivery lifecycle

    • Chair internal project kickoff meetings and articulate solution parameters to both technical and non-technical stakeholders

    • Lead the deployment and configuration of large enterprise solutions, ensuring the integrity and security of the solution is maintained

    • Act as a Point of Contact for customer when investigating and troubleshooting technical issues

    • Open support cases with vendors on behalf of customers

    • Provide informal training, technical guidance and knowledge transfer

    • Templatize and create project documentation such as diagrams and configuration “as built” documentation

  • Proactively support and mentor other consultants

  • Participate in company, team, and management one on one meetings

  • Complete administration tasks such as time tracking and status reporting

  • Complete training and certification exams, as required

What we expect of you:

  • Knowledge in IT market trends and technology insight

  • 7+ years of IT experience in a systems/network administration related role.

  • 5+ years of IT experience with backup and recovery software (e.g. Veeam, Commvault, Cohesity , Rubrik, Dell)

  • In-depth understanding of the capabilities of backup and recovery

  • Two or more Certification(s) related to backup and recovery. Equivalent experience will be considered

  • Specific implementation experience in areas of backup and recovery

  • Experience troubleshooting in large, enterprise environments with exposure to formal change control processes

  • The ability to pass a background check and attain Government of Canada Security Clearance

  • Professional demeanor, good communication, strong organizational and time management skills

  • Eagerness to provide positive business outcomes and excellent customer services

Nice-to-have

  • Previous experience as a consultant or in a customer facing technical/support role

  • Experience managing, administering, implementing services in large enterprise environment

  • Applied knowledge and understanding of basic network infrastructure and connectivity

  • Certifications in relevant technologies in networking or disaster recovery products would be an asset

  • Working experience (or knowledge) with data replication and disaster recovery services such as Zerto, Commvault Live Sync, and Azure Site Recovery

  • Linux/Unix/Windows/Solaris administration skills

  • Proficiency in virtual and/or storage environments as well as cloud providers

  • Knowledge of backup and recovery software licensing and Vendor of Record programs

  • Understanding of Linux and common web services

  • Knowledge in languages such as Python and Terraform

Pay range: $ 113, 000- $ 135, 000, depending on experience and skill set
