This role is for 8 weeks at 35 hours per week.
POSITION SUMMARY
The incumbent is responsible for providing administrative support for the human resources functions within the Operations Department.
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Prepare drafts of Human Resources (HR) related documents (job descriptions, job postings, personnel policies, employment contracts, personnel file forms, and any other HR-related documentation required by supervisor).
Conduct research on HR-related topics including updates to legislation, HR software, and industry-best practices, and present reports to supervisor including recommendations for implementation.
Assist in the recruiting process including posting internal and external vacancies, conducting preliminary screenings and assessments, scheduling and conducting interviews, and producing required communication/documentation.
Conduct orientations and assist in the coordination of onboarding/offboarding tasks.
Maintain up-to-date HR resources and documentation available for staff and regularly update HRIS (human resources information system) as well as any other channels established by META for its employees, placements, and volunteers.
Assist with the administration and maintenance of group insurance benefit plans, RRSPs, time off banks, and any other benefit programs offered by META.
Create, organize, maintain, store, and properly dispose of employment related records and personnel files.
Assist in the deployment and administration of performance evaluation and professional development programs.
Prepare and/or review accurate and well-formed reports, drafts, official documents, applications, policies, and correspondence as needed.
Assist in the coordination of department meetings including booking rooms, preparing agendas, taking minutes, and ordering refreshments.
Market and promote agency through participation in job fairs, speaking engagements, special projects and professional and/or business associations.
Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
