We are an automation company/integrator/machine builder and are looking to add a Controls Technician to the team. This role encompasses all controls/programming aspects of custom automation equipment from design, through electrical, programming, and testing, based on client and company specifications. Key Duties and Responsibilities Completes/assists with controls design and architecture specification. This includes the accurate selection of controls equipment as required by project details. Triton utilizes vision systems extensively (2D and 3D), so vision selection, programming, and testing is highly beneficial. Completes/assists electrical design and commissioning as required. All aspects of programming, testing and commissioning. Experience with PLC software (RSLogix, Sysmac Studio, etc.), Vision software (FH Studio, Halcon), HMI software (FT View, Sysmac Studio, Phoenix Contact), Electrical Design Software (See Electrical) are all assets. Works cooperatively with clients, fellow employees, contractors, management and suppliers Manages all assigned tasks in a neat and timely fashion while striving to maintain budgeted hours Utilize appropriate forms to understand client requirements, determine project direction and required project features Communicate project concerns, project status, and solutions with management, fellow staff and clients Does not add features out of the scope of work without prior approval by management Use appropriate methods to generate and verify the designs and programs Assists during the equipment build, observes and monitors how the build is progressing Occasional travel as required within North America Physical Demands This position may require frequent sitting, and requires constant cervical flexion, the chin to chest movement. Maximum lifting weight can reach about 50lbs, maximum carrying weight is about 40lbs, and the maximum pushing and pulling weights can reach 100-150lbs. Constant forward reach with both arms is necessary as well as frequent grasping. Working in this position requires a very strong ability to work alone and self-supervise as well a strongly established ability to supervise others. It also requires the ability to handle attention to detail, tight deadlines, responsibility and accountability as well as the ability to multi-task. Education Requirements and Experience Minimum Diploma in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or Equivalent Specialized Experience (willing to train junior/less experienced candidates where appropriate) Skills are required to perform multiple, technical tasks with a need to periodically upgrade skills in order to meet changing job conditions for all levels of this position Excellent communication skills We value diversity and inclusion and encourage all qualified people to apply.
