Now, we're looking a new Office Administrator / Bookkeeper to join our team! Office Administrator / Bookkeeper As our new Office Administrator/Bookkeeper your primary responsibility will be ensuring the smooth operation of our administrative and accounting functions. As the sole person responsible for this work in our office, you will enjoy tons of variety and autonomy in your role. You'll get your hands on a bit of everything, gaining a big picture view of our office, operations, and team as you do. While your focus will be on bookkeeping and administration, we want you to grow your role beyond that! Bookkeeping: You will perform a wide range of general bookkeeping duties including accounts payable and receivable, posting payments, preparing invoices and purchase orders, weekly cheque runs, and collections calls. You are also responsible for all monthly reporting to the owner and external accountant. Administrative: You'll serve as the welcoming face and voice of our office to clients and visitors. Equipped with a warm and confident personality, you will establish rapport easily as you answer general questions about our services and products, and direct visitors to the right people. You'll also maintain and organize employee timesheets and schedules for sales calls, as well as file systems, office supplies, equipment. You'll take care of the details so that we have what we need to run smoothly. Operations: You'll find yourself providing support to our inside sales team, helping prepare project estimates and schedules, managing our health & safety program, and serving as the liaison between the field/shop and our office. As you learn the ins-and-outs of our business, you'll quickly become an irreplaceable part of day-to-day operations! The Right Fit Your office administration and bookkeeping experience in the construction, fabrication, home renovation, or agricultural industry will be the key to your success here. If you have any experience with project coordination, estimating, or health and safety, that would be a major plus. Our work is interesting and different every day. The Details This is a permanent position offering a flexible schedule, working Monday-Friday. You'll work between 24-40 hours per week during our office hours, 8:00-4:30. You'll have room here to grow your role – if you are ready to advance your role beyond office administration and bookkeeping, there is opportunity for this to become a full-time position. You'll be paid $22-$26 per hour, depending on experience, and receive full health and dental benefits as well as 3 weeks' vacation. Qualifications Here are our must-haves: * Experience as an office administrator/manager at a small-to-medium sized business * Experience as a full-cycle bookkeeper * Experience in the construction, fabrication/manufacturing, home renovation, or agricultural industry * Experience using QuickBooks accounting software * Advanced level of experience with Microsoft Office programs * Post-secondary education in relevant field (business administration, accounting, finance, or similar) And here's what would be a plus: * Experience using QuickBooks job costing modules * Experience with managing health and safety programs * Experience with construction project coordination and/or estimation How to Apply Our online application will give you the option to apply to this role as a complete person – not just a resume.
