Hybrid remote for the most part, onsite as needed
MUST HAVES:
  • 5+ years' experience in the development, design, and delivery of training material for both technical and non-technical users at the specified experience level.
  • 5+ years' experience delivering training sessions both in person and through live online sessions via teleconference or webinar strong focus on this must have for the one opening left to fill.
  • 3+ years' experience developing documentation and gathering required information to structure contact and course design requirements,
  • Public Sector Experience: Preferred

Description
Role
  • Utilize knowledge of Records Management System (RMS) to develop, interpret and review training project resource material including training plan, course outlines, facilitator guides, related training material for Universal Application (UA), which will be delivered using a blended training model
  • Facilitate training sessions, which may require travelling to various locations with the Province of Ontario
  • Prepare, deliver, and report on performance metrics on the adoption of the Universal Application for each element within the training model
  • Ensure all the historical Desktop Application (DA) training material is removed from the various communications channels with the OPP (e.g. intranet)
  • Assist with the transition of training material from DA to UA for the various program areas within the Organization (e.g. Civilian Data Entry (CDE), Canadian Police Information Centre (CPIC))
  • Conduct post-evaluation of all structural and self-serve learning and develop activities to assess with the need for changes, ensure that material is presented at an appropriate level for participants and employs standard principles of instructional design
  • Identify and recommends opportunities to improve and enhance learning methods and materials to ensure effectiveness of training programs.

  • Knowledge and experience in delivering training on specified packages and platforms.
  • Experience delivering subject matter training sessions both in person and through live online sessions via teleconference or webinar
  • Experience creating, developing, documenting and/or updating training strategie
  • Experience developing documentation and gathering required information to structure contact and course design requirements
  • Experience building training plans for stakeholders
  • Experience developing and delivering technical training plans and materials for both technical and non-technical users.
  • Excellent organizational skills, verbal and written communication skills, presentation skills, and interpersonal skills
  • A team player with a track record for meeting deadlines.

Desirable Skills
  • Experience with presentation tools such as PowerPoint, Adobe, or Image software for screen capture
  • Experience delivering solution training, developing training documentation or job aids, as well as identifying new training opportunities for clients

Skills & Knowledge
  • Adult education principles / practices (e.g. learning needs assessment, program design, development strategies/methods) to plan, develop, deliver, and evaluate organizational training programs, determine alternate delivery methods (e.g. eLearning, Virtual, In-class)
  • Government, ministry, bureau mandate, policies, programs, and various agreements (e.g. Uniform Crime Reporting (UCR) with Statistics Canada) to explain link between RMS and policy
  • Training software tools to prepare and present training material to various audiences
  • Research, planning and organization skills to conduct needs assessments and evaluate training impacts
  • Oral and written communication and presentation techniques to deliver training courses, develop and prepare training program documents (e.g. training program plans, instructional materials, training evaluation tools)
  • Interpersonal and influencing skills to persuasion and motivational skills to deal with course participants who require additional support
  • Team and collaborative skills to develop materials within the training unit and build morale in a team environment
  • Interpersonal skills including sensitivity, tact and professionalism working with trainees
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills to determine training needs and objectives and identify training options and make recommendations that align with project's goals.

Deliverables
  • Deliver and facilitate virtual and in-person training programs using best in-class engagement techniques
  • Review and assess training program effectiveness and make recommendations to address issues and concerns
  • Develop and conduct needs assessments and assist with the development of training modules
  • Evaluate training courses as well as revise and improve the training courses based on the feedback
  • Plan and coordinate the delivery of training activities
  • Assist with the training material deliverables for the UA Sandbox
