My client is a well-established and dynamic construction management firm with over 50 years of combined leadership expertise, proudly serving the Industrial, Commercial, and Institutional (ICI) sectors throughout Toronto, the GTA, and Ottawa. The company is known for delivering quality renovations, alterations, and custom-built projects through a ‘turn-key' general contracting and design-build approach.
As they continue to grow, they are seeking a motivated and organized Assistant Project Manager to join their collaborative team. This role is ideal for someone passionate about ICI construction who thrives in a fast-paced, client-focused environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support Project Managers in the planning and delivery of ICI construction projects from start to finish.
- Assist with tendering, contract management, and procurement processes.
- Maintain project schedules and two-week lookahead schedules using project management software.
- Track and maintain logs for RFIs, submittals, change orders, site instructions, and meeting minutes.
- Attend project site meetings and assist in project coordination between consultants, subcontractors, and internal teams.
- Review and distribute shop drawings and submittals.
- Monitor project costs, assist in change management processes, and support project closeout activities.
- Maintain clear and consistent communication with clients, consultants, and site teams.
- Minimum of 3 years of LOCAL experience in ICI Construction.
(Must have proven experience within the Toronto/GTA construction market) - Post-secondary education in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
- Strong knowledge of ICI project processes, contract documents (CCDC), and construction best practices.
- Proficient with MS Project, MS Office Suite, and project management software (Procore an asset).
- Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work both independently and within a team environment.
