Here's the Role:Site Plan Design:
Design and draft (AutoCAD) Site Plans for development proposals under the Planning Act
Obtain and compile information such as mapping, aerial photography, Land Information Ontario Resources, legal surveys, etc.
Terrain Modeling (Civil 3D)
Volume Calculations (Civil 3D)
Civil Design:
Site Grading, Site Servicing and Stormwater Management design/drafting (Civil 3D)
Design of Water Distribution Systems, Sanitary Sewers and Small Sewage Treatment Systems
Stormwater management design calculations (Rational Method and Otthymo)
Low Impact Development (LID) Practice modelling and design
Traffic Impact Studies
Field visits and site inspections during construction works to verify conformance with design and address site conflicts.
Build Relationships:
Collaborate with team members to design optimal solutions.
Build and maintain important relationships with both our staff and our clients.
Here Are The Necessary Skills You Will Need
Technical and Design Skills:
Strong proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D
Visual Otthymo (or other hydrological modelling software), LID TTT (by TRCA, CVCA, LSRCA)
Strong proficiency with MS Word and Excel
Familiarity with the integration of topographic mapping, surveys, and other digital resources
Proven ability to create innovative designs.
Experience in Civil Construction (hands on and/or through past work experience including co-op placements)
Reporting and Presentation Skills:
Solid reporting, analytical and problem-solving skills.
Well-developed communication, presentation and interpersonal skills required to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
Attentive to detail and organized.
Ability to liaise directly with clients, approval agency staff and contractors in a project management role.
Education And Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering from accredited Canadian University or equivalent
Registered with PEO as a Professional Engineer
Preferred Experience:
5 years experience in municipal civil engineering design with an emphasis on stormwater management.
Experience in municipal/civil construction; either hands on experience or through co-op placements and conducting field inspections.
