Experimental Mechanic Supervisor
" Supervise unionized experimental mechanics supporting testing operations. Testing operations include Battery Lab, Brake Development Lab, Road Test Simulation, Engineering Garage.
" Plan, coordinate and prioritize experimental mechanic activities to meet testing operation objectives in a safe and efficient manner.
" Comply with the collective bargaining agreement,
" Supervise in accordance with the Ontario Occupational Health and Safety Act
" Be integral to the path to Zero Injuries
Responsibilities include but not limited to:
" Supervise group of experimental mechanics performing test setup, test rig maintenance and other ARDC operational functions.
" Develop and modify standard operating procedures and work instructions for activities, tooling and equipment
" Supervise in accordance to the Ontario Occupational Health and Safety Act, company policies, procedures and guidelines.
" Oversee experimental mechanics preventative maintenance program for automotive testing equipment
" Prioritize tasks and Client based on urgency and workforce availability
" Maintain accurate hourly timekeeping records, vacation and time off requests
" Perform workplace inspections to maintain a clean and safe work environment.
" Procure parts, materials and rentals as required to complete tasks
" Track data for KPI and KAI performance targets
" Maintain good supplier/customer relations with internal customers and outside suppliers
" Monitor and maintain inventory levels of materials and equipment - Requirements:
" Certificate of Qualification as an engineering technologist or any trade designation
" 5-10 years of supervisory experience in an industrial setting
" Experience with automated equipment with preference to automotive assembly or automotive component testing would be a benefit
" 5-10 years of experience in a unionized labour environment
" Technical knowledge of automobiles and electric vehicles would be a benefit
" Willingness to accept a wide variety of assignments
" Knowledge of Ontario Building Code, Electrical Safety Code, OH&SA Regulations
" Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite software, ability to learn and operate other computer based and web based programs
" Strong project management, organizational, teamwork, written and verbal communication skills
" Must have a valid driver's license
" Willing to work weekends and shift work as requiredLocation: ARDC - 100% onsite
Driving a Stellantis vehicle is required
Occasional travel to US required - Occasional meaning 1 to 2 times per month for trainings/meetings
