About the Role:
We are seeking a Senior Application Architect to lead the design and delivery of web and API-based enterprise software solutions. You will play a key role in shaping integrated IT solutions and modernizing the technology stack as part of a highly agile, customer-focused development team. This role demands technical leadership, a collaborative mindset, and a drive for innovation through modern design and development practices.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead technical solution design, architecture planning, and delivery for enterprise-grade applications.
- Collaborate with development teams to implement new features, resolve defects, and drive architectural improvements across backend and frontend components.
- Design and develop RESTful APIs based on TMF Open API standards.
- Provide mentorship and technical direction to developers, ensuring adherence to coding standards and quality best practices.
- Champion DevOps culture, Agile practices, and continuous integration/continuous delivery (CI/CD) principles.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies and contribute to backlog grooming, sprint planning, and reviews.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with product owners, UX/UI designers, and QA teams to ensure alignment with business goals.
- Utilize experience with architecture frameworks such as TOGAF, ITIL, eTOM, or CoBiT to drive robust and scalable solutions.
Requirements
Required Skills & Experience:
- Proven experience in IT architecture, technical solution design, and enterprise software delivery.
- Hands-on experience with backend technologies:
- Java, J2EE, Spring Boot, Quarkus, SOAP/XML, RESTful Services, Spring MVC, Multithreading, Swagger, Microservices.
- Experience designing and developing REST APIs using the TMF Open API suite.
- Frontend development experience is an asset:
- ReactJS, NodeJS, JavaScript, Java, Web Services.
- Proficiency with CI/CD pipelines and cloud-native application development.
- Experience working within Agile delivery models (Scrum, SAFe preferred).
- Familiarity with tools such as Jira and Confluence.
- Strong communication skills – both oral and written – in English.
Assets:
- SAFe Certification or formal Agile training.
- Experience with architecture governance frameworks such as TOGAF, ITIL, CoBiT, or eTOM.
Working Conditions:
- Type of job: Temporary Contractor – 1 year with the possibility to extend
- Work hours: Monday - Friday, 40 hours per week
