Summary: The Driver AZ will operate a tractor trailer to transport goods across regional or long-haul routes, ensuring timely, safe, and accurate deliveries. This role requires adherence to all safety regulations, proper handling of cargo, operation of pumps and hoses, and exceptional customer service. Additionally, this role involves loading and unloading cargo, ensuring timely deliveries, and complying with all company and MTO regulations.

Essential duties of Position:

  • Safely operate a tractor trailer to transport products to customer locations across various routes. Ensure timely and accurate delivery of goods in accordance with customer expectations
  • Assist in loading and unloading products at warehouse locations and customer sites. Ensure all cargo is secured properly and accurately matches order details
  • Follow all safety protocols, including Canadian Commercial Vehicle Operators' Regulations (CVOR) and Transport Canada guidelines. Conduct daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections to maintain vehicle safety
  • Complete all required paperwork, including delivery receipts, trip logs, and vehicle inspection reports, ensuring accuracy and timely submission to the company
  • Provide excellent customer service by addressing customer inquiries and resolving issues as needed. Uphold the company's professional image during all deliveries
  • Plan delivery routes for maximum efficiency, considering factors like traffic, road conditions, and weather. Communicate with dispatch regarding any delays or route changes
  • Monitor vehicle condition and report any issues or required maintenance to management. Keep the vehicle clean and in optimal working condition
  • Follow all company policies and procedures, including safety standards, accident/incident reporting, and punctual delivery schedules
  • Work closely with dispatchers, warehouse personnel, and other drivers to ensure smooth operations and meet delivery deadlines
  • Other duties assigned by management

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent (required)
  • One (1) – three (3) years of verifiable related experience and/or training (preferred)
  • AZ endorsement (required)
  • Transportation of Dangerous Goods (TDG) a plus
  • Possess a valid AZ license, and equipment certifications
  • Provide a Drivers Abstract (required)
  • Clean driving record with no major violations
  • Must pass a pre-employment drug test and background check
  • Availability to work flexible hours, including overtime and occasional weekends.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Needed:

  • Strong knowledge of MTO regulations and safety protocols
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to handle physical labor, including loading/unloading cargo
  • Good problem-solving skills and the ability to plan efficient routes
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to complete tasks within a deadline
  • Excellent customer service skills

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly and perform physical tasks related to loading/unloading
  • Ability to sit for long periods of time while driving
  • Willingness to work in various weather conditions
