Job Description

What is the opportunity?

We are looking for a candidate to grow our Finance team in Calgary, AB. As an Accounts Receivable Analyst, Broker Accounts, you will work within the sales statement team to prepare monthly broker and agent statements, including reconciliations, payments, and deposit records. You will respond to daily inquiries from brokers, dealers, and internal teams, ensuring clear and professional communication. You will also support the month-end close process by preparing journal entries, completing reconciliations, and assisting with other financial tasks as assigned. Additionally, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure accuracy in statement presentation, incentive calculations, and process enhancements, while identifying and implementing improvements and maintaining up-to-date process documentation.

What will you do?

Prepare sales statements with varying degrees of complexity.

Prepare reconciliations, broker deposits, broker payments.

Identify and resolve broker discrepancies.

Prepare incentives calculated for brokers, dealers, and agents.

Support month-end close activities such as booking accruals, performing reconciliations, and preparing/reviewing lead sheets and working papers.

Respond to external broker and dealer inquiries and internal inquires.

Collaboration with sales statement team members and other departments to:

Gather information,

Ensure accuracy in sales statements presentation,

Ensure accuracy in brokers/dealers incentives, refunds, and claw backs calculations,

Look for solutions to new business initiatives,

Respond to external broker and dealer inquiries and internal inquires.

Identify process improvement opportunities, make recommendations to management and assist on implementing the change.

Update/create process documentation.

Enhance internal controls.

What do you need to succeed?

Degree in Accounting/Finance preferred

3-5 years of Finance experience.

Intermediate skills in Excel are a must.

Experience with data analysis tools preferred.

Experience in ERP systems such as Sage 300 preferred.

Demonstrates a strong attention to detail, ensuring accuracy and completeness in handling extensive data records.

Highly motivated team player with a strong inclination for continuous learning.

Possesses well-established organizational skills, demonstrating the ability to multitask, problem-solve, and take initiative.

Excellent communication skills and a proven ability to collaborate effectively within the team and across various departments.
