Our client in Downtown Calgary is searching for a Senior Accountant to join their growing team. This role requires an accountant with experience and interest in change management as the company evolves the accounting function with the commencement of an ERP transition
Your success will be defined by your ability to:

• Reconcile accounts, including bank accounts in a timely manner.
• Research and resolve variances in a timely manner.
• Prepare month end accruals and related documentation.
• Prepare month end journal entries with accompanying analysis and support.
• Prepare certain month working papers in support of entity financial statements.
• Prepare month end costing reports, analysis and adjustments.
• Assist with general ledger oversight and maintenance.
• Participate in the development and maintenance of process documents to support accounting functions.
• Comply with internal controls and processes.
• Sales tax analysis, processing, filing, and payments.
• Prepare and support the provision of audit and tax deliverables to the internal and external tax preparers and auditors.
• Work with staff and management across departments to build strong relationships to create an efficient and effective operating environment.

Your strengths include:

• Post-secondary education in accounting or finance
• Interest in, or pursuing, a CPA designation would be an asset
• 4+ years of experience in an accountant or senior accountant capacity
• Experience working as part of a team of 3 or more.
• Experience with ERP systems (Dynamics NAV preferred, Great Plains, Microsoft F&O, NetSuite, or SAP).
• Manufacturing and/or inventory accounting experience required.
• Construction, oil and gas, or industry or product knowledge specific to site services preferred.
• Advanced excel skills required.
