Job Title: Service Parts Inventory Clerk

Our client in Peel Region, ON is actively looking for a Service Parts Inventory Clerk to join their team.
The training for this role is in the Cambridge warehouse (4 weeks) and the position will begin in Mississauga.
Job Description:
1. Identification of Parts Requirements, Purchasing, and Sourcing
- Provide a high level of customer service, responding to technician, service coordinator, and customer needs and working to satisfy expectations
- Advise of inventory parts pricing and availability
- Work with the service team to create timely responses and shipments for customers in breakdown and deficiency scenarios
- Work with HQ Logistics and Purchasing departments to ensure correct inventory levels are maintained to support the Service Department
- Expedite the shipment of customer backorders in the most efficient and cost-effective way possible
- Evaluate inventory levels while pulling parts for orders and notify purchasing when reorders are necessary because stock levels are low or at zero
- Constantly evaluate considerations for safety stock numbers in SAP system
- Update SAP material master data, service jobs, etc.
- Enter verbal and written purchase orders for spare parts into SAP, and initiate material transfer requests
- Allocate service parts to customer orders, crate POs for non-stocked items/equipment, quote delivery time
- Other job-related paperwork as required
- Assist the logistics team with physical movements of goods between HQ and Service warehouses
- Inspect and verify incoming goods against packing slips, and appropriately document rejected materials
- Receive deliveries/shipments of parts and enter into SAP inventory system using part numbers and location numbers
- Operate hand truck and/or other material handling equipment to load, unload, transport and store goods in their assigned locations and shift non inventory items - always with Safety First in mind with regards to inventory movement and storage
- Ensure all inventory locations and parts bins, are clearly labeled
- Pick parts for customer orders and segregate for service jobs and customers
- Stage complete orders for technician pick up with clear labelling of number of boxes included and items located in other inventory locations (for example: large parts locations)
- Arrange courier shipment to customer sites based on best value and on-time delivery based on service calendar and in coordination with service team members
- Perform periodic cycle counts and assist in annual inventory for Service parts
- Work with controller and manager to reduce obsolete stock each year
- Return parts replaced under warranty as requested by Technical Support, Quality, or Service Management
- Issue return material numbers for shipping discrepancies and Class 1 service orders
- Returns must be completed within two weeks
- Supports logistics team at Cambridge HQ when required for vacation coverage and other inventory needs
- Ensures adherence to established Class 1 procedures, objectives, quality assurance programs, and safety standards
- Maintain warehouse in organized clean and safe manner removing clutter and hazards and establishing good housekeeping
- Perform assigned duties in accordance with Class 1 Inc standards, while always striving to understand the needs and expectations of the customer. Take whatever action is
- Regular travel to HQ Warehouse located in Cambridge, Ontario, Canada
- OSSD
- 1-2 years' experience in order picking and/or inventory management
- Valid Driver's License and clean driver's abstract may be required
- Vulnerable Sector Police Record Check may be required
- Proficient in ERP Software (SAP preferred)
- Proficient in MS Office Suite (including Excel)
- Bilingual in English & French (speaking and writing) considered an asset
- Experience in manufacturing considered an asset
- Understand concepts and procedures of repair techniques for mechanical and electrical systems considered an asset
- Superior oral and written communication skills
- Ability to balance changing priorities in fast-paced service department
- Ability to sort, check, count, and verify numbers accurately
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving methodology to be able to identify solutions to customer problems
- Able to use the following equipment: scales, rolling carts, hand-truck, ladders, and stretch-wrap equipment.
- Attention to detail and strong reading comprehension skills
- Ability to read electrical blueprints, colour-coded controls schematics, and as built drawings an asset
- Comfortable learning new software systems
