About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Application Specialist to join our Ottawa-based team responsible for the design, delivery, and execution of integrated IT solutions that support the introduction of innovative technologies and services. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a collaborative, agile team dedicated to performance management, service quality, and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including IT, network, operations, and product experts to design and implement end-to-end IT solutions.
  • Support performance management, reporting, and service quality delivery through data analysis and dashboard/report creation.
  • Investigate and resolve anomalies in business workflows and provisioning/dispatch/network systems to identify service improvement opportunities.
  • Maintain system health and ensure the secure development and deployment of software solutions.
  • Work closely with Application Architects, Scrum Masters, and Support Engineers to ensure the smooth operation of applications in a secure and compliant manner.
  • Contribute to agile ceremonies and practices, including sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives.
  • Support quarterly planning iterations (PI Planning), requiring occasional in-person meetings in Ottawa for alignment and collaboration.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in application support, IT solution delivery, or a related technical role.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with experience in investigating system and service anomalies.
  • Experience working in an Agile environment with cross-functional teams.
  • Proficiency with tools for data visualization, performance reporting, or system monitoring.
  • Knowledge of secure software development practices and lifecycle management.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Working Conditions:

  • Type of job: Temporary Contractor – 1 year with the possibility to extend
  • Work hours: Monday - Friday, 40 hours per week
  • Location: Ottawa, ON
