Nithview Community is a seniors' community designed to provide several types of accommodation and services. Residents are able to choose the type of accommodation that is most appropriate for their care needs and continue to live within the community of care as their needs change. Emphasis is placed on assisting residents to live life to the fullest in this dynamic residential setting.

About the Position:

As a valued member of the team, the Nurse's Aide (Non-certified Care Provider) demonstrates a commitment to resident safety by providing quality care in accordance with organization's vision and mission.

The Nurse's Aide is accountable to the Director of Resident Services for the provision of support with activities of daily living to residents and performs other transferred functions i.e. medication administration as assigned. This role may also assist with dining service, recreation program support and common area housekeeping in varying locations.

The Nurse's Aide is required to perform their duties in a manner consistent with the core values, ensure resident safety, and demonstrate customer service excellence.

Summer Opportunities generally start in May and end at the beginning of September. These jobs may be funded by the Government of Canada's Student Work Placement Program (SWPP) or Canada Summer Jobs. In order to be considered for the Canada Summer Jobs Program, you must:

  • Be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident or a protected person defined by the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act.
  • Be between 15-30 years of age at beginning of employment period
  • Have a valid Social Insurance Number at the start of employment and be legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant provincial legislation and regulations

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Must be able to communicate in written and verbal form and maintain an acceptable standard of behaviour and appearance.
  • Computer skills an asset.
  • An energetic, compassionate person who enjoys working with the elderly and who possess excellent problem solving, planning and creative abilities.
  • Ability to follow direction and work in a team environment.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends and holidays.

New employees will be required to complete a vulnerable sector check (or sign a declaration if under 18 years of age) and TB test as part of the onboarding process.
