Acara Solutions is seeking highly qualified candidates to work Onsite with our client in Cambridge, ON. Interested?
Here's what you'd do:
- The Machinist/Toolmaker is responsible setting up, programming, and operating CNC machines to perform various tasks such as drilling, milling, and turning.
- This role needs a combination of technical skills, precision, and problem-solving abilities to ensure that products meet quality standards and specifications.
- Maintain equipment by completing PMs and calling for repair if needed
- Troubleshoot and solve complex mechanical and operational issues
- Prepare and load/set up the raw material or die sections in the machine
- Manufacture, modify and repair precision tools, jigs, fixtures according to specifications, blueprints and technical drawings
- Program/Run CNC code from provided CAD data using Mastercam
- Interact with CAD specialist/Toolmakers to refurbish/improve/build spares
- Use of various equipment/tools to create and repair tooling, including, but not limited to, grinders, welding equipment, machining equipment, overhead cranes

Required Skills / Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Minimum 2 years of experience in precision machining, and is skilled at interpreting engineering drawings and blueprints.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a custom machining shop
- Minimum 2 years of experience in Fabrication
- Minimum 2 years of experience with 3/5 axis CNC operation and programming
- Minimum 2 years of experience in SolidWorks, Mastercam or Edgecam and AutoCAD software
- Minimum 2 years of experience with Okuma, Siemens and Heidenheim CNC controls
- Minimum 2 years of experience in CNC programming languages such as G-code and M-code
- Minimum 2 years of experience as a Licensed Machinist and Tool and Die Maker
- Minimum 2 years of experience in Measuring tools and instruments, such as micrometres, verniers, callipers, height gauges or other specialised measuring instruments
- Minimum 2 years of experience in 3, 4 and 5-axis CNC machines
- Minimum 2 years of experience in Lathe
Preferred Skills / Qualifications:
- Proficient reading of blueprints and sketches
- Effective communication skills for collaborating with team members and supervisors
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Good attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work
- Good mechanical aptitude
Additional Information:
