Project Manager - Global Legal Strategic OperationsJob Summary
Equinix is on a transformational journey to meet our future needs as a growing and evolving platform company. Reporting to the Strategic Operations Director, and part of the Global Legal Operations & Strategic Services (GLOSS) organization, the Project Manager, Global Legal Strategic Operations will play an active role in shaping Equinix next-gen Legal team. As the Legal department continues to transform, the Project Manager, Global Legal Strategic Operations is essential to support and provide direction across multiple critical programs. In collaboration with other members of GLOSS, this role will drive the design, development, and implementation of the Transformation Management Office (TMO) from a project management perspective, support the end-to-end Legal and cross-functional transformation strategies, including driving project management support and execution across the Legal Department's key initiatives portfolio.
The successful candidate is proactive, resourceful and skilled at creating and implementing transformation programs and plans, including overall project management portfolio administration, that maximize overall effectiveness. Partnering closely with the GLOSS Transformation Management Office (TMO) leader you will play a critical role in establishing and leading a project management program that enables effective project portfolio coordination through the application of consistent methodology and metrics, while supporting the continuous development of project management capabilities and skills in the Legal organization. A strong plus if you have experience supporting cross-functional teams in M&A and integration projects.
The Project Manager, Strategic Operations will operate with enthusiasm, resilience and a results-oriented mindset, enabling momentum by driving key initiatives to completion and building followership quickly. You will play a critical role in managing stakeholder expectations and communications.
Responsibilities
Project Management
Drive project execution, through a combination of project management support, self-service enablement and consulting, across the TMO project portfolio
Enable self-service PM: develop standard PM tools, templates and guidance to assist teams in delivering small to medium projects
For the Legal Department's highest priority initiatives, lead the planning, execution and monitoring of those projects
Collaborate with stakeholders to define project scope, objectives, and deliverables
Develop detailed project plans, timelines, and resource allocation strategies to ensure successful implementation within defined parameters
Monitor project progress, identify risks and issues, and implement mitigation strategies as necessary to ensure timely delivery and quality outcomes
Engage with an owner's mindset, ensuring project completion across necessary input from various departments and stakeholders
Key Focus Areas
Lead the planning, execution and monitoring of the Legal Department's highest priority initiatives, which may include M&A integration projects. For the remaining initiatives (large majority), provide consultative project management support to project teams
Own and maintain TMO tools
Execute and/or coordinate TMO actions, with a focus on project management, across multiple ongoing projects
Develop and maintain a transformation community
Collaborate on and support Change Management strategy and execution
TMO Support and Development: Partner with the TMO Leader to deploy and maintain the TMO support model, including the development/refinement of the (i) TMO scope (e.g., TMO processes, with a RACI breakdown) with a focus on project portfolio management system; (ii) TMO stakeholder engagement model; and (iii) TMO analytics & success program (e.g., dashboard and key success metrics)
Data Management and Analytics: Utilize data analytics to provide actionable insights for decision-making and strategic planning
Cross-functional Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with various departments, aligning legal operations with broader organizational objectives. Effectively communicate with stakeholders, translating complex legal and operational concepts into understandable terms
Continual Learning and Industry Awareness: Maintain current knowledge of industry trends, best practices, and emerging innovations in legal operations. Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance expertise and professional network
Candidate Profile
The candidate will have experience leading transformation and project management efforts for cross functional teams (preferably Legal transformation), globally. You will bring knowledge and credibility based on academic background and track record of successful project and change management delivery. The successful candidate will be a collaborative partner, experienced facilitator, and a clear and effective communicator. You will have consulting skills and data analysis capabilities

Qualifications
5+ years of transformation and project management experience working for large scale programs. Strong plus if in a professional services, law firm or law department environment
Exposure to Legal technology implementation preferred (CLM, ELM etc.)
Experience in corporate transactions, mergers & acquisitions and strategic partnerships, merger and acquisition process is a strong plus
Experience in supporting M&A integration coordination and project management is a strong plus
Success at leading cross-functional workshops and alignment events
Demonstrated success influencing senior leadership decision making, facilitating problem solving, and mediating conflict
Demonstrated ability to take ownership of work, work autonomously and be proactive with communications and task prioritization
Bachelor's degree in business, technology, law, or a related field. Or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
JD, MBA or similar advance degree a strong plus
Lean Six Sigma black belt certification or equivalent experience and/or Agile certification a strong plus
PMP certification strongly preferred
Exposure to agile methodology preferred
Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of value stream processes (e.g., lead-to-cash, source-to-pay)
