Senior Operations Manager
We are seeking a highly experienced and strategic Senior Operations Manager to lead and oversee the day-to-day operations of our client's third-party logistics (3PL) distribution facility. This individual will play a key leadership role in managing warehouse operations, optimizing logistics processes, improving performance metrics, and ensuring best-in-class service delivery to their clients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead, manage, and develop a team of Operations Managers, Supervisors, and associates in a high-volume distribution environment.
- Oversee all aspects of warehouse operations, including receiving, storage, order fulfillment, inventory control, and shipping.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations, company policies, and client-specific service level agreements (SLAs).
- Develop and implement operational strategies to maximize productivity, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness.
- Analyze KPIs and operational data to identify trends, opportunities, and areas for improvement.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including transportation, customer service, HR, and IT to drive integrated operational performance.
- Serve as the primary operations contact for client partners, ensuring expectations are met or exceeded.
- Champion continuous improvement initiatives using Lean, Six Sigma, or other methodologies.
- Manage labor planning, budgeting, and capacity forecasting to support business needs.
- Drive a culture of accountability, engagement, and excellence within the facility.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Logistics, or related field (Master's preferred).
- 7+ years of progressive leadership experience in distribution, logistics, or supply chain operations, preferably in a 3PL environment.
- Strong knowledge of WMS systems, labor management tools, and inventory management best practices.
- Proven track record of managing high-performance teams and large-scale warehouse operations.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience with Lean/Six Sigma and continuous improvement practices is strongly preferred.
- Ability to manage multiple clients and prioritize competing demands.
