Position Overview:
We are seeking a driven and dynamic Business Development Representative to join our growing team. This role is perfect for a motivated professional with a strong foundation in freight brokerage and account management. The ideal candidate will have experience building and maintaining relationships, generating new business, and managing accounts on a national scale.
As a Business Development Representative, you will be responsible for developing new client relationships, managing a portfolio of existing accounts, and providing top-tier service to ensure customer satisfaction. You will work closely with internal teams and carriers to ensure seamless transportation logistics and execute strategic business development initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
- New Business Development: Proactively identify and acquire new clients by leveraging industry knowledge, cold calling, and creative sales strategies.
- Account Management: Manage and grow accounts by providing outstanding service and identifying opportunities for upselling and cross-selling.
- Market Research: Stay up-to-date with market trends and competitor activities to adjust strategies and provide the best possible service offerings to clients.
- Negotiation & Pricing: Negotiate rates and service terms with clients and carriers to maximize profitability while ensuring customer satisfaction.
- Customer Support: Address client concerns and inquiries promptly, ensuring high levels of customer retention and satisfaction.
- Reporting & Analytics: Track performance metrics, analyze business trends, and report regularly to leadership on sales activities and account growth.
Qualifications:
- Experience: 1-3 years of experience in freight brokerage or logistics sales, with a proven track record of success in business development and account management.
- Industry Knowledge: Familiarity with the transportation and logistics industry, including freight rates, shipping solutions, and market trends.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to build rapport and negotiate effectively.
- Self-Starter: Highly motivated, goal-oriented, and able to work independently while managing multiple accounts and responsibilities.
- Tech-Savvy: Proficiency with logistics software, CRM systems (salesforce, HubSpot, ZoomInfo, etc.) , and MS Office Suite.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in national account management or large-scale logistics coordination.
- Knowledge of various transportation modes (FTL, LTL, intermodal, etc.).
- Strong negotiation skills and a results-driven approach.
