We're looking for an enthusiastic, detail-oriented, and people-focused People & Culture Summer Student to join our Refinery team. This is your chance to dive into meaningful work that supports our most important asset, our people.
What You'll DoAs part of our People & Culture team, you'll play a key role in supporting HR initiatives and day-to-day operations at the refinery. Your summer will be packed with opportunities to contribute and grow:- Process payroll change forms with accuracy and efficiency
- Prepare professional correspondence and internal communications
- Conduct exit interviews, gathering valuable feedback to inform our culture
- Participate in hiring interviews, gaining insight into recruitment practices
- Take minutes during Labour Management Meetings and support follow-ups
- Support employee engagement initiatives that build morale and team spirit
- Generate reports and analyze data to help drive smart people decisions
What We're Looking For
- Currently enrolled in a post-secondary program related to Human Resources, Business Administration, Psychology, or a related field
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Strong attention to detail and a proactive, can-do attitude
- Comfortable working with confidential information and able to handle it with discretion
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Excel and Word)
- A genuine interest in human resources, organizational culture, and making workplaces better for everyone
- Hands-on experience in HR practices within an industrial setting
- Exposure to a wide range of functions: payroll, engagement, recruitment, and more
- Networking opportunities and mentorship from experienced People & Culture professionals
