We are currently looking for a full time Shop Hand to join our team! You would be responsible for the daily upkeep of our shop and warehouse, maintenance of onsite machining equipment and tools, and assisting our facility manager with anything they may require. Though this is mainly an in-shop position, you may be required to transport equipment or tools to our field crews from time to time.

Key Responsibilities:

• General facility upkeep, maintenance, and organization
• Inspection and repair of shop tools, onsite machining equipment, and vehicles
• Assist onsite crews with loading or unloading trucks, picking up or delivering supplies
• Organize and clean equipment that comes back from field
• Assist with special projects and cover for other positions when staffing levels are low
• Responsible for shutting down and securing of shop, yard etc. when necessary
• Provide support and assistance to the facility manager
• General labour duties when needed
• Overtime will be required as requested

Qualifications:

• Previous experience as a mechanic, millwright, or machinist
• Working knowledge of shop or industrial parts and equipment
• Mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
• Strong attention to detail and must be able to listen to instructions carefully
• Ability to stand, climb, bend, and lift up to 100lbs for extended periods of time
• Previous Forklift and Overhead Crane experience would be considered an asset
• Self motivated and able to work alone and as a member of a team

Education: Prefer High School or better

Required: Drivers License (Class 5)
