Key Responsibilities:
- Review personal, corporate, and trust income tax returns, as well as partnership information returns.
- Lead tax planning engagements for owner-managed businesses and Canadian domestic clients.
- Provide advisory services to international and cross-border clients.
- Oversee processes and procedures during tax season to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Conduct tax research and provide technical insights for client engagements.
- Draft correspondence for internal use, client engagements, and tax authorities.
- Identify technical tax issues, develop solutions, and implement best practices.
- Analyze new tax legislation and implement planning strategies for clients.
- Prepare and deliver professional development seminars.
- Supervise, coach, and mentor tax staff, delegating assignments effectively.
- Manage engagement phases, including budgeting, work-in-progress analysis, invoicing, and accounts receivable management.
- Support marketing and business development initiatives to promote the firm's services.
- Minimum of 4 years of tax experience within a public accounting firm, with at least 1 year at the manager level.
- CPA designation and enrollment in or completion of the In-Depth Tax Program.
- Proficiency in tax software such as CaseWare and TaxPrep.
- Experience working with owner-managed businesses.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
