We are seeking an Intermediate Interior Designer to become a part of our team! This is a full-time role, on-site at our Toronto location. As an Intermediate Interior Designer, you will be responsible for participating in the design development process, preparing and presenting design proposals, producing detailed drawings, selecting furnishings and materials, and liaising with clients and consultants.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the team throughout the various phases of a project, including Concept Design, Design Development, Construction Documentation, and Construction Administration, ensuring a seamless flow of ideas and execution.
- Attend project-specific meetings to capture critical discussions and decisions, documenting minutes that serve as a reference for follow-up actions, thereby supporting the team in maintaining project clarity and progress.
- Partner with the Senior Designer and management team to organize and facilitate project meetings, fostering an environment for effective communication and collaboration among all stakeholders.
- Proactively source and coordinate samples from vendors, enriching the project's material palette and providing valuable options for consideration in both projects and studio work.
- Assist in the coordination of various external project consultants, such as lighting designers, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing specialists, structural engineers, signage experts, and kitchen consultants, ensuring that all elements align harmoniously for a well-integrated project outcome.
- Help synchronize multiple projects and interior design drawings with inputs from the client, consulting team, and multidisciplinary design team, ensuring cohesive design intent and execution.
- Create and submit essential documentation and submittals, streamlining the approval process and enhancing project efficiency.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Interior Design or a related field
- Minimum 5 years of experience in an Interior Design role
- Strong concept design development and visualization skills
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, SketchUp, and Adobe Creative Suite
- Knowledge of building codes and standards
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to multi-task and work under tight deadlines
- Experience in luxury hospitality is a MUST
