About the Role:
Seeking a highly skilled and motivated Intermediate Family Law Clerk to join their dynamic Family Law Practice group, the successful candidate will play a pivotal role in supporting the Family Law practice group and contributing to their continued success in providing top-tier legal services to clients.
- Assist lawyers with managing a diverse caseload of family law matters, including divorce, custody and access disputes, child and spousal support issues, and property division.
- Prepare and draft various legal documents, including pleadings, affidavits, financial statements, separation agreements, and court orders.
- Liaise with clients, opposing counsel, and court staff in a professional and courteous manner, ensuring effective communication and timely resolution of inquiries.
- Conduct legal research and analysis on relevant statutes, case law, and procedural rules to support case preparation and strategy development.
- File documents with the court and administrative tribunals, ensuring compliance with procedural requirements and deadlines.
- Assist in the preparation for trials, hearings, and other court proceedings by organizing evidence, witness coordination, and trial logistics.
- Perform various administrative tasks, including file management, scheduling appointments, maintaining calendars, and billing support.

- Completion of a recognized Legal Assistant or Law Clerk program is required.
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience working as a Family Law Clerk in a law firm setting.
- Proficiency in using legal software such as Divorcemate, PC Law, and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally with clients, colleagues, and external stakeholders.
- Strong attention to detail, time management skills, and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within a team environment while also capable of working independently with minimal supervision.
- Maintain confidentiality, integrity, and professionalism in all interactions and adhere to ethical standards of the legal profession.
