The company is seeking a capable and motivated full-time Fund Accountant. The role:

As a FundAccountant, you will be an integral member of the Finance and Accounting team.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Manage investor-related inquiries, working papers, and calculations
  • Assist in coordinating investor subscriptions, redemptions and distributions
  • Accurate maintenance and reconciliation of internal working papers
  • Prepare journal entries and reconciliations for month end close
  • Assist with the preparation of monthly management reports and financial statements
  • Approve loan funding requests and verify commission calculations
  • Support cash management and treasury functions (monitoring balances, completing transfers, and authorizing transactions)
  • Complete annual external audits including assigned schedules and working papers
  • Assist in financial analysis as required
  • Additional projects and ad-hoc work as assigned

Required experience, knowledge, and skills:

  • Strong understanding of basic accounting principles
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
  • Strong attention to detail, work ethic and analytical capabilities
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proven success working both independently and as part of a team
  • Comprehensive computer skills including Microsoft Office suite and Google Apps
  • Hands-on experience with accounting software
  • Meaningful education in accounting and/or finance
  • Minimum 5 years of prior accounting experience, CPA/CFA a strong asset
