Job Summary

NWS is seeking an experienced IT Professional to join our team as the Sr. IT Administrator and help maintain, troubleshoot, and enhance the company's IT systems and infrastructure. This role goes beyond standard technical support by incorporating advanced networking, security, and business application management. The successful candidate will provide hands-on support to end-users, manage critical IT infrastructure, and implement advanced solutions to ensure business continuity and security. The ideal candidate will possess excellent problem-solving skills, strong technical expertise, and the ability to communicate complex concepts to both technical and non-technical users.

As a Sr. IT Administrator, you will provide first-line technical support to end users, resolving service interruptions swiftly and maintaining system reliability. Working with the IT Manager, you'll manage infrastructure systems and ensure seamless IT service delivery.

This role requires a strong background in Microsoft-based environments, desktop/PC expertise, familiarity with network systems, and ERP admin experience. You thrive in a fast-paced environment, excel at multitasking, and communicate effectively. A passion for delivering excellent client experiences and a willingness to learn are essential.

Key Responsibilities

Technical Support & Troubleshooting

  • Provide first-line technical support to employees via Teams, email, or in person, resolving issues related to software, hardware, networking, and mobile devices.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot problems across operating systems, applications, networks, printers, and peripheral devices with a focus on proactive resolution.

Hardware & Software Management:

  • Install, configure, and maintain company hardware and software systems across a diverse range of devices.
  • Manage and support assets such as PCs, printers, RF scanners, barcode printers, and backup systems.
  • Source and configure devices for users.

Advanced Networking & Infrastructure:

  • Configure and manage advanced networking equipment including access points, routers, switches, firewalls, VPNs, and network cabling to ensure robust connectivity and security.
  • Oversee firewall administration and monitor network performance, addressing issues in collaboration with the IT team.

Backup, Disaster Recovery & Cybersecurity:

  • Implement and manage comprehensive backup and disaster recovery strategies to ensure business continuity.
  • Collaborate with the IT team to enforce advanced security measures, including intrusion detection systems, antivirus solutions, and encryption protocols, ensuring adherence to best practices and compliance requirements.
  • Assist in the creation and implementation group policies.

Systems Administration:

  • Conduct daily system and server check-ups, ensuring optimal performance and prompt resolution of issues.

Business Applications & Development:

  • Provide technical support and maintenance for business-critical applications including Microsoft O365, SAP B1, WMS software, SQL/HANA Server databases, and HubSpot CRM.
  • Develop and support business process automation solutions to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Create SQL/HANA queries and stored procedures to support business needs.

Documentation & Training:

  • Document IT support requests, troubleshooting steps, and resolutions in the help desk system.
  • Maintain an accurate inventory of IT equipment, ensuring proper tracking, ordering, and replacement.
  • Provide training and guidance on software applications, hardware usage, and best practices to new and existing employees.

AV & Meeting Support:

  • Set up and maintain audiovisual equipment for meetings and virtual presentations.

Continuous Improvement:

  • Keep up to date on industry trends and emerging technologies to recommend and implement continuous improvements in IT support processes and infrastructure.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Minimum of 3-5 years in IT support, help desk, or a similar technical role with advanced IT systems and network management.
  • Strong understanding of Windows and macOS operating systems, coupled with proficiency in Microsoft 365 services.
  • Hands-on experience creating queries, stored procedures and jobs in a SQL/HANA environment.
  • Ability to manage advanced networking issues, including routers, switches, access points, RF wireless scanners, firewalls, VPNs, and network cabling.
  • Solid understanding of backup strategies and disaster recovery planning.
  • Demonstrated expertise in cybersecurity principles and practices, including the use of advanced antivirus, intrusion detection, and encryption methods. Experience with Microsoft Defender and Intune is preferred.
  • Experience deploying and managing Windows & Azure Server environments - including installation, configuration, updates, patch management, and high availability setups.
  • Familiarity with IT ticketing systems and remote troubleshooting tools.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to perform under pressure.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, capable of explaining complex technical concepts to non-technical users.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple tasks concurrently.
  • Experience with programming and development tools such as web development, API integrations, and reporting tools (SSRS, Power BI, etc.) is an asset.
  • Prior experience in supporting IT infrastructure within a warehouse or logistics environment is beneficial.
  • Familiarity with the French language is preferred but not required.
