POSITION: Gravel Truck Driver
JOB TYPE: Full Time
WAGE: Starting at $34/hour
LOCATION: Grande Prairie, AB
JOB SUMMARY:
The Agency is partnering with Advantage North Services Ltd., a full service civil and oilfield construction contractor that offers a number of services to meet all construction and access needs, from large scale construction projects to emergency access matting solutions. Servicing Alberta and northern BC, Advantage North is a growing organization located in Manning and Grande Prairie. They are looking for individuals with safe driving skills and the ability to work in high paced work environments. English is not necessarily required to be successful within this position.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Safely operate vehicle to transport and deliver gravel to designated locations.
- Secure loads properly and ensure they are balanced for safe transportation
- Perform pre and post trip inspections to ensure safe operation.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers, supervisors, and team members to coordinate logistics and ensure timely delivery.
- Maintain accurate records of daily activities, including mileage, fuel consumption, and maintenance performed.
- Follow company safety protocols and policies.
- Conduct field level hazard assessments and routine maintenance.
- Efficiently perform logs and all required paperwork.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Class 1 Drivers License
- 1-3 years experience is considered an asset
- Work well both in a team environment and independently
- Have (or willing to get) certifications as required including, but not limited to, TDG/WHMIS, H2S, First Aid, onsite company orientations, etc.
- Commitment to safety, attention to detail, and a strong work ethic
- Ability to work out of town and extended hours
