We are seeking a Buyer for our Power Electronics Division in Georgetown, Ontario. The Buyer is responsible for quoting, negotiating pricing and purchasing inventory and materials in support of CPI needs.

YOU WILL BE ACCOUNTABLE FOR:

  • Acting as the primary liaison between CPI & our suppliers
  • Create and maintain purchase orders
  • Pull all documentation and send out quote requests to suppliers.
  • Evaluate supplier quotes and awards accordingly.
  • Work with Planning to disposition Excess and Obsolete material.
  • Assist Accounts Payables to resolve invoice discrepancies.
  • Escalate supplier related issues in a prompt manner.
  • Help resolve issues and answer questions from other CPI employees.
  • Perform other tasks and duties as required.

YOU ARE THE RIGHT PERSON FOR THIS JOB IF YOU HAVE:

  • 2-4 years experience as a Buyer within a manufacturing environment.
  • Associate or bachelor's degree is an asset.
  • Working experience with ERP and/or MRP systems.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, proficiency in Microsoft Excel required.
  • Working knowledge of item attributes and their effects on MRP messages.
  • Ability to present possible solutions when notifying management of an issue.
  • Excellent organization skills.
  • In-depth knowledge/understanding of Government contractor purchasing requirements.
  • Must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills with ability to communicate with all levels of organization.
  • Ability to build and maintain positive working relationships.
  • Must be able to meet CGP requirements.
