About the Role
Our client, a respected nonprofit organization supporting individuals with developmental disabilities, is looking for a Senior Financial Accountant to join their Central Administration team. This is a 6-month contract role with the potential to make a meaningful impact on the lives of those served by the organization.
What You'll Do
- Oversee payroll review and ensure compliance with legislation (ESA, OPBA, etc.)
- Support accounting functions including AR/AP, month-end close, and reconciliations
- Prepare and manage financial reports in line with GAAP and MCCSS guidelines
- Track revenue recognition and deferred revenue; assist with forecasting
- Review and approve expense reports, EFTs, and credit card transactions
- Collaborate with team members to improve reporting and budgeting processes
What You'll Bring
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance (or equivalent experience)
- 5+ years of experience in accounting, payroll, and financial reporting
- Knowledge of nonprofit or public sector financial practices (MCCSS experience a plus)
- Proficiency with QuickBooks and Excel
- Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask
- Great communication and team collaboration skills
- Valid Ontario G-class license and access to insured transportation
