About the Role

Our client, a respected nonprofit organization supporting individuals with developmental disabilities, is looking for a Senior Financial Accountant to join their Central Administration team. This is a 6-month contract role with the potential to make a meaningful impact on the lives of those served by the organization.

What You'll Do

  • Oversee payroll review and ensure compliance with legislation (ESA, OPBA, etc.)
  • Support accounting functions including AR/AP, month-end close, and reconciliations
  • Prepare and manage financial reports in line with GAAP and MCCSS guidelines
  • Track revenue recognition and deferred revenue; assist with forecasting
  • Review and approve expense reports, EFTs, and credit card transactions
  • Collaborate with team members to improve reporting and budgeting processes

What You'll Bring

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance (or equivalent experience)
  • 5+ years of experience in accounting, payroll, and financial reporting
  • Knowledge of nonprofit or public sector financial practices (MCCSS experience a plus)
  • Proficiency with QuickBooks and Excel
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask
  • Great communication and team collaboration skills
  • Valid Ontario G-class license and access to insured transportation
